Orlando April 5-6, 2025 Wilderness First Aid (& SOLO WFR recertification)
This is a two day (18 hour) Wilderness First Aid course for anyone who wants to learn life-saving skills in a variety of environments. The course is designed for remote environments (outdoors, disaster, travel, rural areas) and focuses on improvising with limited resources. Skills include how to recognize and effectively manage a medical emergency, treating a variety of injuries, bleeding and infection control, splinting fractures, handling environmental emergencies such as heat exhaustion, lightning strikes, drowning, snake bites and more. Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts; those who travel internationally or to remote areas for fieldwork, business or pleasure; homesteaders and those wanting to be more self-sufficient, those living in rural locations; students in the medical field who would like hands on training; and anyone who would like to learn first aid skills. The knowledge and skills gained here are useful for everyone (including city dwellers who live within 10 minutes of a hospital!).
WFA certification card is valid for 2 years. To recertify and refresh skills, sign up for a regular WFA course.
This course also serves as a WFR recertification for SOLO WFRs. After completing this course you will send a packet (we will provide) and a small fee to SOLO headquarters for the recertification process. Otherwise, there are no additional fees to take this WFA course to fulfill your WFR recert.
Minimum age to participate: 13
This course will be held on UCF campus at the outdoor rec building
